Kitchen Leaking Taps

Ask a Plumber

I have changed the fountain head on my kitchen sink several times but there is always a slight leak. What could be causing this?

  1. It could be a few things. Does it leak even right after you changed it with a new head? If this is the case it could either be the cartridge in the faucet is faulty or a lot of times the heads themselves just leak for a while after they are turned off to drain the water out of them.
If it doesn’t leak for a while right after you change it and then it starts up it could be a low-quality faucet head. My recommendation would be to change out the whole faucet with a higher quality one.
